Clément Leroy
- Biographie
- Clément Leroy studied cognitive psychology. During his studies, he learned how to learn. After graduating, he tried to make a living from his passion for balance and became a street performer. But a year later, a motorcycle accident prevented him from pursuing this path. He then developed, thanks to this accident, the ability to balance on his bicycle, while stationary, on one foot. With this skill, he won his first world championship title in bicycle balancing in 2013. He then had the idea to travel to the North Cape in Norway and offer a bicycle balancing demonstration in exchange for a place to stay for the night. And it worked! He stayed in more than 40 houses during this trip. In March 2015, he was selected to participate in a TEDx conference in Paris. He then continued his travels, staying with locals in France, Australia, Japan… He has now spent over 350 nights with locals in more than 20 countries. In 2019, during the Tour de France, he attempted to break the world record for static balance endurance. He succeeded in breaking this record by crossing the symbolic 24-hour mark, balancing on his bicycle while remaining within a 10 cm square on the rear wheel. Since 2013, he has won a total of 6 world championship titles in bicycle balancing. After more than 350 nights with locals on 4 continents, Clément Leroy shares his experience and his keys to strengthening our balance… in imbalance.
